Biography

Karla is a Senior Engineering Advisor and registered USPTO patent agent. Her experience of more than a decade of working on complex patent matters positions her as a strategic partner for her clients. She helps them understand the risks and opportunities associated with various approaches to protecting their innovations and helps them develop and implement strategies centered on their business goals. Karla handles patent procurement, reexamination, reissue, portfolio management, IP due diligence, and patentability assessments in the areas of chemistry, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices. Karla’s clients benefit significantly from her remarkable understanding of the U.S. patent system and also deep knowledge of foreign patent examination rules and procedures.
